Doctor Who

So as some of you guys know, I have been watching Doctor Who, for the month of November so here is a review of Doctor Who.

So lets start with 9.

My Favorite Three Episodes

Season 2 episode 4 The Girl in the Fireplace

I love Sophia Myles I loved Erica in Underworld, I think she is an amazing actor. This episode has it all. Time travel, (I mean really fast time traveling) Amazing actors who know what they are doing. Creepy clock men in beautiful masks. History of France in the French Revolution. Gorgeous dresses. And as well Rose! And there is a tragic love story.

Doctor: David Tennant

Companion: Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) and Mickey Smith (Noel Clarke)

Writer Steven Moffat

Director: Euros Lyn

Season 3 Episode 10 Blink

I think this is an amazing episode for the anyone to pick up doctor who. There is not a lot the doctor, or Martha, there is a clear opening for anyone to be asking the question “What the Frack” Is going in. SO much happens in this ep, its hard to explain without spoiling the rest of the episode.

Doctor: David Tennant

Companion: Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman)

Writer: Steven Moffat

Director: Hettie MacDonald

Season 5!

AH! I love

I it was the first season I saw. (I know I

actually watched something backwards, I couldn’t even start watching The big Bang Theory with out watching the first episode.

To pick one episode from this season, I would pick, Eleventh Hour. Mainly because it’s a Whole new cast, it’s a new story, and it broug

ht me into this amazing world. This is a GREAT starting point for the series, and if anyone wants to start doctor who and does not want to start from Doctor 9 a great place would be to start with 11.

So I am going to be a sucker for 11, Matt Smith. For a couple of reasons, I love david, but Matt is just more fun, from the moment we see him, he’s claming to be a girl because of long hair and from then on its just pure laughs, when he is series, hes amazing, when hes not, he is funny. I think I have a soft spot because he is the first doctor who I have actually watched from start to finish, and I have to wait for episodes.

9 bugged me, I was not a huge fan on 9, for no other reason then it is hard to go back. David is a different story because he’s the doctor for so long, but Chris, is only the doctor for roughly 13episodes, and I don’t know I could love him as much as David and Matt.

Sure if I didn’t the crap scared out of me when I was 13, on the very first episode of the new series, I think I would be fine, and again with a fair amount of episodes in this season.

10! Oh My Oh My, I love me some Doctor, I think he is just brilliant I almost wish I seen him while it aired. A

nd It was heart breaking to see him go, but I love 11. So his ending was bitter sweet. I don’t have much to say about David, because there is nothing bad to say about him.

Companions

Amy Pond. Oh my, I some what have a girl crush on her. Right now I am watching (The Big Bang) and and I am frackin in love with her. I think I have a thing for red heads, I think the story behind amy is so intreging, I love how much happens too her. And again, I have the first love soft spot. And FINALLY someone who isn’t in love with The Doctor.

Rory is great, I think he adds a perfect blance to the cast, and come on (spoilers) how many times can you kill this poor boy.

Rose Tyler: Ah! Come back Rose I miss you! No really I don, you were in four seasons and I don’t know how they did season 5 without you! There so much going on with Rose. And I love that she has her happy ending.

Mickey Smith: Oh my, So strange, so much goes on with him. I love that he is hopelessly in love with Rose, who is seriously in love with the doctor. I also love that the gets his happy ending.

Martha Jones: Hello Lady, where have you been all my life? She’s great and how the heck did she end up with Mickey? And what happened to Tom?

Donna Noble: I didn’t like her. She bugged me, she was too much stuck in her own ways, doctor donna was weird, I just don’t like her plot line. Also that it’s the end of the David, I am kinda bitter.

Captain Jack I am watching torchwood for you. I think that say enough.

So that’s that hope you enjoyed this review, and if your board and need something to watch, I hope you look into this.

After Lost Girl season one is done, I will be reviewing it, because its one of the most fantastic shows I have secne in a while.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson – John Green & David Levithan

Will Grayson, Will GraysonJohn Green & David Levithan

One cold night, in a most unlikely corner of Chicago, two teens—both named Will Grayson—are about to cross paths. As their worlds collide and intertwine, the Will Graysons find their lives going in new and unexpected directions, building toward romantic turns-of-heart and the epic production of history’s most fabulous high school musical.
Hilarious, poignant, and deeply insightful, John Green and David Levithan’s collaborative novel is brimming with a double helping of the heart and humor that have won both them legions of faithful fans.

----

“O.M.G Best Book Ever!” was my response moments after finishing Will Grayson Will Grayson.

And I am not sure that has changed. A day later, its still fresh in my mind. It is so amazing. The amazing minds of David and John, put together this amazing collaboration of this book, makes for a good laugh.

I haven’t read much of John’s or David’s work, I’ve read No Kiss List and Nick and Norah, and I have read An Abundance of Katharine’s and I am currently reading Looking For Alaska. They are all fabulous, and I have had zero letdown from Will Grayson, if anything I am holding Looking for Alaska and Love is the Higher Love to higher standers because of Will Grayson, Will Grayson.

Characters in this book were amazing, though at the first mention of some of the characters I could see what was going to happen between them. But there were twists and turns between them. Tiny might be the best character ever, he is the most fabulous character I have read in a long time.

This book is laugh out loud funny. There were some points where I died laughing. This book is staying in my favorites shelve.

Benefit to the Audio book, is that the book is told with two different voices, and you hear Tiny’s singing! Its amazing, its like a movie without pictures, and you can do other things while reading, I cleaned the house and decorated for the holidays.

Sorry for saying Amazing so much.

--------------
The summer of 1889 is the one between childhood and womanhood for Amelia van den Broek-and thankfully, she's not spending it at home in rural Maine. She's been sent to Baltimore to stay with her stylish cousin, Zora, who will show her all the pleasures of city life and help her find a suitable man to marry.

Archery in the park, dazzling balls and hints of forbidden romance-Victorian Baltimore is more exciting than Amelia imagined. But her gaiety is interrupted by disturbing, dreamlike visions she has only at sunset-visions that offer glimpses of the future. Soon, friends and strangers alike call on Amelia to hear her prophecies. Newly dubbed "Maine's Own Mystic", Amelia is suddenly quite in demand.

However, her attraction to Nathaniel, an artist who is decidedly outside of Zora's circle, threatens the new life Amelia is building in Baltimore. This enigmatic young man is keeping secrets of his own- still, Amelia finds herself irrepressibly drawn to him. And while she has no trouble seeing the futures of others, she cannot predict whether Nathaniel will remain in hers.

When one of her darkest visions comes to pass, Amelia's world is thrown into chaos. And those around her begin to wonder if she's not the seer of dark portents, but the cause.

So this week I am doing Lauren Oliver's Delirium

So I could only find a picture from Travailing Arc Tours of the old cover, And the New cover is:

I think both are beautiful but I think I like the new cover better, I think there are more places you can go with this cover for the next books, I am also sorta hopping that they will do a cover like the gargoyle or zombies vs unicorns with this, I think that would be beyond cool.

So last wednesday the new cover for Claire De Lune was reviled

So The Orignal cover is

And I think this is a beautiful cover, its not one of those books that I would buy just cause of the cover, but it is pretty, and I think that it captures the book very well. Now the new cover, is
And its very very plain, and white, and ugly. its too simple, the writing looks bad and the blood looks fake, I dont really have any idea where it coming from, it has nothing to do with the book. So I really think this was a fail.

The Cover for the next book was unveiled as well, i think this is a little better, but since I didn't like Claire de Lune in the first place, I will not be buying this, because I think S&S of all publishers could do better.

Hex Hall - Rachel Hawkins

Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It's gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie's estranged father--an elusive European warlock--only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it's her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters.

By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect.

As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.

--------------------------------------------------

Title: Hex Hall
Author: Rachel Hawkins
Publisher: Hyperion
Page Count: 323
Series: Hex Hall

Hex Hall, I wasn't expecting anything great, and I have to say I was wrong. This book kept me guessing from the start, the begging was odd, but I found that I could not put the book down, I was laying in bed for hours thinking about the book, trying to get to sleep. I found that this book was always in my thoughts. Giving the twins a bath, walking home. And yet spending all this time thinking about the book, there were more then a couple occasions where I put the book down because I was so shocked about what happened.

Sophie is a good main character, yet I found her falling for Archer a little annoying, every bone in her body is screaming "don't go near him hes a major bully." And yet, she is still drawn to him. That was annoying, Thought I like Archer, and I think I might have a little bit of a name crush on him, I don't like the whole Sophie falling for him was believable, much like the insta-love we see in twilight, I am sure if there was more substance to Archer and Sophie I would of liked it better. But Sophie and Archer was vital to the story line.

So this is a really good story and I really liked it, but I found the writing a little weak, and I feel like Sophie who was I am guessing 15 really should be able to swear, drop an f-bomb every once and a while, or a sh*t, I found the story was very older teen, but at the same time, the writing was very middle grade.

I hope the writing and relationship between Archer and Sophie, will be developed more in Demon Glass.

----------

Sorry I missed a couple weeks. October was October, and I was away.

So this week I give, you: The Prophecy of the Sisters.

This is the old cover, and I dislike it, its reminds me too much of the weeping Angels from Doctor Who. and I think the rose is out of place.

I like the new cover, because of the night bright clean edges in it. and the two diffrent colours of the sisters eyes.
And this is the cover for the new book, I adore this cover.

I can not wait to read these books!

Covers Covers Covers!

“When a virus makes everyone over the age of eighteen infertile, would-be parents are forced to pay teen girls to conceive and give birth to their children, making teens the most prized members of society.

Sixteen-year-old identical twins Melody and Harmony were separated at birth and had never met until the day Harmony shows up on Melody’s doorstep. Until now, the twins have followed completely opposite paths. Melody has scored an enviable conception contract with a couple called the Jaydens. While they are searching for the perfect partner for Melody to bump with, she is fighting her attraction to her best friend Zen, who is way too short for the job.

Harmony has spent her whole life in religious Goodside, preparing to be a wife and mother. She believes her calling is to bring Melody back to Goodside and convince her that “pregging” for profit is a sin. But Harmony has secrets of her own that she is running from.

When Melody is finally matched with the world-famous, genetically flawless Jondoe, both girls’ lives are changed forever. A case of mistaken identity takes them on a journey neither could have ever imagined, one that makes Melody and Harmony realize they have so much more than just DNA in common.”

-----------------

I cant wait for this book, but I am disappointed by the cover, its too plane and white, but I have total faith in the cover.
-----------------

Nature is out of balance in the human world. The sun hasn’t shone in years, and crops are failing. Worse yet, strange and hostile creatures have begun to appear. The people’s survival hangs in the balance.

To solve the crisis, the oracle stones are cast, and Kaede and Taisin, two seventeen-year-old girls, are picked to go on a dangerous and unheard-of journey to Taninli, the city of the Fairy Queen. Taisin is a sage, thrumming with magic, and Kaede is of the earth, without a speck of the otherworldly. And yet the two girls’ destinies are drawn together during the mission. As members of their party succumb to unearthly attacks and fairy tricks, the two come to rely on each other and even begin to fall in love. But the Kingdom needs only one huntress to save it, and what it takes could tear Kaede and Taisin apart forever.

-----------------
I don't like this cover either. Its a lot like the UK cover of Graceling, I think the snow is throwing me off of this cover, I think that Ash was so beautiful and I really hoped for a cover more like Ash.
-----------------

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.

But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

-----------------
I LOVE this cover, its so pretty, I love the covers! and I can not wait to own this book even if I havent finished hex hall.

The Replacements Brenna Yovanoff

Mackie Doyle is not one of us. Though he lives in the small town of Gentry, he comes from a world of
tunnels and black murky water, a world of living dead girls ruled by a little tattooed princess. He is a Replacement—left in the crib of a human baby sixteen years ago. Now, because of fatal allergies to iron, blood, and consecrated ground, Mackie is fighting to survive in the human world.
Mackie would give anything to live among us, to practice on his bass or spend time with his crush, Tate. But when Tate's baby sister goes missing, Mackie is drawn irrevocably into the underworld of Gentry, known as Mayhem. He must face the dark creatures of the Slag Heaps and find his rightful place, in our world, or theirs.

Edward Scissorhands meets The Catcher in the Rye in this wildly imaginative and frighteningly beautiful horror novel about an unusual boy and his search for a place to belong.

--------------------------------

So I was really looking forward to this book, it was good. but it took me forever to get into, and when I was near the end, I could easily put it down, it makes for a good travel book.

I think that it's just me, not my cup of tea, if you know what I mean. The plot of the book was solid, there was no flaws, that I could see. I love the characters, they were real, and the story was good. Yet I found the plot avrage, sure Mackie had a perfect character map, and everything he did felt real.

I loved the background characters, Emma was great, I loved how much she didn't care that her brother was a Fae, or that Roswell, is like my best friend, and reacts the say way my bff would, the characters are so real, I loved it.

The Replacements wasn't the book for me. Like shiver wasnt the book for me. I love Shiver after linger, but I don't know, The replacements wasn't fabulous in my eyes.

The Writing was great, like reading poetry.
Despite not liking the book, I do look forward to the next books. Because I like the Lore, as well as the writings and Characters, I would really like to see something from Emma's Point of view.

I think its one of those books, that I wouldn't recommend to everyone, but if you like erry, and books with a lot of world building, you should go read this, and make up your mind, prove me wrong!
